Back to NewsButler’s Organic Farm Win Prestigious Bord Bia Award
HAPPY hens, happy owners at Butler’s Organic Eggs when they cracked the competition to scoop a 2022 Bord Bia National Organic Awards.
Hacketstown-based Butler’s Organic Eggs was presented with the marketing campaign award at the prestigious event, with David and Paula Butler on hand to receive their award from minister of state Pippa Hackett.
“We were delighted to win the award for best Marketing Campaign. It is important for us to show consumers what organic means for animal welfare, quality of food, soil regeneration and much more. Organic farming is a lot more time-consuming and expensive than conventional farming, hence, the price of the product is more expensive. When consumers realise what’s involved in producing good quality, chemical-free food that also ensures high standards of animal welfare they are willing to pay that bit extra.” comments Paula Butler, Butler’s Organic Farm.
The 2022 Bord Bia National Organic Awards saw seven organic farmers, growers, producers and manufacturers honoured for their contribution to the sector.
A place among the winners means Butler’s Organic Eggs will receive a one-to-one session with the Bord Bia client capability team, which will help develop a bespoke package of supports to meet the company’s needs.
Over 120 entries were received for the 2022 awards, which saw a wide selection of organic produce from across the country virtually assessed by an independent judging panel of organic Irish food and drink industry leaders.
“I’d like to share my warmest congratulations with the winners of the 2022 Bord Bia National Organic Awards,” said minister Hackett.
“Their innovation, creativity and determination are a testament to the excellent standards in the Irish organic industry. The ambition of our award winners is particularly relevant at the current time, with thousands of farmers considering going organic when the Organic Farming Scheme opens shortly with increased payment rates. The environmental and economic benefits of organic farming are needed now more than ever, and our winners for 2022 signal a bright future ahead for the Irish organic sector.”
Bord Bia Interim CEO Michael Murphy also congratulated this year’s winners and thanked them for their invaluable contribution to this growing and dynamic sector.”
Butler’s Organics were also runners-up in the product retail category which is a testament to their dedication to organic farming and producing tasty organic eggs.
